Sample email
A student asks for corrections on an email she was sending out and here is the edited version that you can change to fit your situation and use for a template:
For the last several months I have been studying to become a MnemeTherapist with The Art Without Boundaries Apprenticeship Program. This is a wonderful organization that began by helping individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and has now grown to include work with many types of brain disorders and all aspects of Autism Spectrum Disorders (which now effects 1 in every 125 children in the US).
AWB uses a new process called MnemeTherapy. It is NOT a psychological process such as art therapy. Instead, it uses everyday pleasures such as painting, singing, movement, story telling and praise to stimulate dramatic changes in the brain. Children are starting to speak and one man had his vision restored to right side up, during his first session!
Since budgets are tight, AWB is fulfilling its mission of promoting MnemeTherapy by offering an online auction (similar to eBay) from which an amazing 85% of the proceeds will go toward providing services to those who would benefit from receiving it.
AWB also allows students to form a “friends and family” team to help towards tuition. This auction will be open the first 10 days of each month starting in July 2009. You will not be asked to pledge or walk for the cause. Just tell others about it and shop if you'd like.
